Visit to Kedarnath Ji
Kedarnath Temple: Kedarnath Ji is one of the most important pilgrimage destination amoung chardham, where one of the twelve Jotrilinga of the lord shiva is placed. Adi Guru shankracharya founds this temple on 8th century. Kedarnath ji temple open on Akshya tirtya and closed on Bhai Dooj. According to mythology, after the end of the Mahabharta, the Pandavas came here to seek redemption for their sins.
Shankaracharya Samadhi: Shankracharya ji Samadhi is situated just next to the kedarnath ji temple. As per mythology jagat guru Shankracharya ji took Samadhi here at the very young age of 32 after establishing all chardhams.
Chorabari Lake (Gandhi Sarovar) : Chorabari lake is situated after 1 km from the kedarnath ji temple. This lake is also known as Gandhi sarovar because ashes of mahatma Gandhi ji were immersed in this lake. It is also believed that the dharma Raj Yudishter, eldest among pandavas brothers, went haven from this place.
Triyuginarayan Temple: Triyuginarayan Temple Situated in Triyuginarayan village in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. Trijuginarayn is a place of lord Vishnu ji. This temple is made by Pandavas. As per beliefs this is the village where lord shiva and mata parvati marrrige took place. A Havan Kund that is still burning in front of the temple is believed to have witnessed the sacred matrimony.
Sonprayag: Sonprayag is a small village; it is a confluence of two holy river sone ganga and mandakini. It is believed that a dip in these rivers will bring good fortune and blessings of the almighty. The snow Coverd Mountains are main attraction of this place, it make this place so beautiful.
Gaurikund: Gaurikund is a amcient temple which is addressed to Maa Parvati. As per belifes that it is the place where goddess Parvati ji worshipped of lord shiva. There is also a hot water spring which is known as Gaurikund, it has great medicinal value and also helps in purifying the sins of devotees who visit it. The temple consists the metallic statues of Lord Shiva & Maa Parvati.
Ukhimath: Ukhimath is winter home of lord kedarnath ji. Devotee can worship lord shiva (kedarnath ji) in winter at here. The main attraction of this place is here temple architecture and the snow Coverd Mountains. From ukhimath visitor can visit places like Madhmaheshwar, tungnath etc
Chopta: Chopta is known as mini Switzerland it is a pictureous valley, here many bugyal (land of small green grass). The whole area is affluent in various flora and fauna. The valley is surrounded by different kinds of trees like rhododendron, pine, and deodar. The tourists can visit this place in winters from December to February and enjoy trekking in snow.
